Arguing to me is fun because I like to see what other people think and how strong their conviction is. I think that arguing helps both parties come to see the other parties view in a different light than before. Whether its good or bad doesn't matter as long as both sides manage to learn from each other. I like to argue about art.
Art is something that I hold close to my heart and I love. Whereas most things that humanity does is simply used for survival in a logical way, art does not have the same type of necessity. Art is made for human enjoyment and is unique because people have their own way of expressing themselves through it, but one thing every piece of art has in it is that the artist is trying to convey some kind of message to the audience. This is where the arguing comes into play. What is the message that the artist is trying to convey? This is why art is fun to me. I love trying to answer this question anytime I listen to music, look at a painting, or read a book! If I have a friend who has experienced the same piece of art then we oftentimes can argue about the message and try to come to conclusions.
Art is by its nature interpretive and so unless the artist decides to reveal his intentions the argument can't be settled or shut down. Most of the time this does not happen though because I think the artists realize that interpretation is a huge part of the fun of observing art. Art is the best topic to argue about because there is no clear answer and you learn so much from the other person arguing. Both about their personality and what they feel when they observe art.
